Care Ledger

Care & Craftsmanship

Natural materials, disciplined construction, and pieces that age like evidence. Treat them with ceremony and they only get better.

What We Work With

Sins of the Past uses natural, ethically sourced materials: raw Japanese denim, exotic leathers, fox and mink fur, full-grain leather, .925 sterling silver, and black diamonds. Every object is built like a relic, not a trend, and arrives with a printed care booklet and verification code.

01

Denim & Mixed Textiles

This applies to Bad Influence Jeans, This Seems Illegal Denims, Pony Play Pants, Wrong Turn Trousers, and the "Don't Ask Me Where I Was" Jacket.

  • First rule: these are luxury denim pieces, not everyday work jeans. Rotate wear and let them rest between outings.
  • Washing: for raw denim areas only, turn inside out, hand wash cold with mild detergent, then hang dry away from direct sun.
  • Avoid soaking exotic panels: pony hair, python, caiman, or mink trims should never be submerged.
  • No dryers: heat warps leather, shrinks denim, and can crack exotic skins.
  • Storage: use broad padded hangers and give tails, heads, and applique room so nothing gets crushed.
02

Exotic Leather & Relics

This applies to the "Don't Check My Bank Account" Wallet, the Two-Faced Mink Belt, exotic denim panels, and future leather relics.

  • Keep dry: avoid rain, spills, and steam. If a piece gets wet, blot gently and let it air-dry naturally away from heat.
  • No household cleaners: skip alcohol, wipes, and generic sprays. Use products made specifically for reptile or exotic leather if needed.
  • Protect sculpted details: raised heads and shaped elements should not be bent, crushed, or sat on.
  • Storage: keep pieces in a dust bag or breathable pouch and never fold heads or tails under pressure.
  • Light and heat: prolonged sun can fade color and dry scales, so store in a cool shaded space.
03

Fox & Mink Fur

This applies to Back-From-The-Dead Fox Coat, Bad Decision Aviator, Text-Me-Back Fox Wrap, After-Hours Muff, and the fur side of the Two-Faced Mink Belt.

  • Professional cleaning only: never wash fur at home. Use a qualified furrier for deep cleaning.
  • If fur gets damp: shake gently, hang in a cool ventilated room, and let it air-dry without rubbing, brushing, or heat.
  • Storage: hang larger pieces on broad padded hangers and use breathable garment bags instead of plastic.
  • Avoid perfume and hair products: apply sprays before dressing and let them settle first.
  • Small goods: store flat in a dust bag with the fur side up and no heavy weight on top.
04

Sterling Silver & Hardware

This applies to the Bad Habits Chain, "Do Not Open" zipper pulls, scythe hardware on denim and bags, and any SOTP silver accents.

  • Material: .925 sterling silver with optional black diamond inlay.
  • Daily wear: avoid chlorine, pools, hot tubs, harsh chemicals, and abrasive contact.
  • Cleaning: polish with a soft jewelry cloth. For deeper tarnish, use silver-specific polish only.
  • Zipper pulls: support the pull with your fingers while zipping to avoid torque on the hardware.
  • Storage: keep pieces in anti-tarnish pouches or separate compartments so they do not scratch each other.
05

Storage, Travel & Repairs

  • Dust bags first: use SOTP dust bags and garment bags whenever a piece is out of rotation.
  • Give objects room: do not overpack closets, luggage, or shelves around tails, heads, hardware, and sculptural details.
  • Long-term storage: keep fur in a cool, dry, dark environment and avoid attics, garages, or direct sunlight.
  • Repairs: if a stitch loosens, a scale lifts, or hardware needs adjustment, contact us before attempting DIY fixes.
06

Booklet & Verification

Each purchased item includes a printed Sins of the Past care booklet tucked into the order as part of the artifact.

The booklet includes your piece-specific handling notes, material guidance, and a verification code that unlocks the next layer of access for the item.

  • Keep the booklet: do not discard it after unboxing. It is part of the piece record.
  • Verification code: each code is unique and tied to the purchased item that shipped with it.
  • Unlock access: use the code to unlock the protected experience, content, or registration layer connected to your item.
  • If lost or damaged: contact us with your order details before sharing the code publicly or attempting unofficial recovery.

Treat the booklet like provenance. The code inside is part authentication, part access key.
